to make world-class hammer throw coaching accessible to everyone.
At the heart of that mission is Coach Jay — a lifelong student of the sport, a nationally decorated hammer thrower, and a committed mentor to developing athletes across the country.
A Thrower’s Journey Turned Coaching System
Coach Jay is a lifelong hammer thrower and the creator of HammerCoach PRO — a system built to make elite hammer training accessible to athletes and coaches at every level.
His journey began at Classical High School in Providence, RI, where he was introduced to the hammer at a time when few high school athletes had access to the event. He quickly rose through the ranks to become an All-American in the weight throw, setting the foundation for a career built on rhythm, precision, and passion for the sport.
Jay competed at the Division I level with Indiana University, where he deepened his knowledge of advanced training systems, technical development, and competition psychology. After college, he continued throwing and winning on the national stage — becoming a State Games of America Champion, 2× USATF New England Hammer Champion, and 3× Sons of Italy National Games Champion.
HammerCoach PRO is the result of decades spent in the circle — drawing from the systems of Bondarchuk, Sedykh, Németh, and Pagel — and built to help the next generation of throwers train with purpose, rhythm, and confidence.
